Green Ammonia

HNH is a large scale green ammonia project to be built in multiple phases, located in the Magallanes region of South Chile, with nearby access to a potential port site and abundant of potential land plots for further development.Â

The total project size is 3.5 GW onshore wind, 3 GW electrolyser and an estimated total production of 1.35 million tonnes of green ammonia per year.Â

The challenge

To address potential risks and hazards associated with the First of A Kind (FOAK) project during the Pre Front End Engineering Design (Pre-FEED) phase, Process Risk Consulting were commissioned to facilitate a Hazard Identification (HAZID) and Environmental Identification (ENVID) Workshop.

The scope of workshop included energy generation from wind, the generation of hydrogen from electrolysis and green ammonia production.
